This immaculate original 1700’s Sainte Bible, with original commentary from the illustrious Antoine Augustin Calmet, is not just rare for its age. Printed in 1772, this second edition print was stalled by the death of the printer, Nicolas Desaint, in 1771, making the second edition more rare than the first.
This rare and ancient Bible is in perfect condition, we are selling individual pages and chapters due to damage to the book’s covers. By selling the pristine pages, chapters, commentary and pull out maps we are offering everyone interested in history the chance to own a part of it for an extremely affordable price.
This product listing, and price, is for the cover pages of this Bible. There is a four volume set, so there are four cover pages available. All are pictured. Ignore slight wrinkling, this is normal for old parchment, the pages will be sent to you completely flat. There will be no wrinkles once they are taken out and flattened professionally, and will be wonderful on display.
